Sandra Martin of Corinth is a regular contributor to this page and her recent photo shows the cycle of nature in action.
"Here are a few pictures I took (February 11th)...the victim is a mourning dove...it seems to me that the dove struck our window (I did hear a crash) while being chased and the hawk pounced on it when it hit the deck. What a beautiful bird!!"
Thanks Sandra.

Eastern Bluebirds will stay in our area throughout the winter months if food is available. Kathy Kelenski's Clifton Park NY feeding station is regularly visited by bluebirds, like this one feeding on the last tidbits of a WBU Supreme Fare cylinder offered in a Dinner Bell feeder. If you look closely, you'll see she's sharing it with a White-breasted Nuthatch.
"Here are some pictures I took today (Sunday January 31st). The little buggers move fast but I was able to get a couple of decent shots. Thanks for all your help and advice."
Thanks for sharing your pictures, Kathy!

A three woodpecker shot! Anne & Phil Gongoleski of Gansevoort, NY submitted these images of a Pileated, Hairy and Downy Woodpecker at her well-provisioned feeding station.
"At last....feeding on the holiday seed wreath hanging on our new WBU pole system. Isn't she cute? She's been back a number of times this week. What I believe is her mate has been drumming on a dead tree near by and she's been using a dead tree trunk in our yard to respond when she's in our woods. There's also been back and forth drumming and yakking within in year shot in the area. Maybe we'll have a nest nearby this year. Move aside Jeff !!!!!"
(Jeff is her friend and past co-worker who recently submitted HIS pileated pictures! It's a pileated duel!)
Anne & Phil, thanks for sharing!

We're getting lots of reports of Pileated Woodpeckers at suet feeders! Sandra Martin of Corinth submitted these great images of a male pileated on her suet log feeder.
"Here are some pictures...of a pileated at log feeder -- I could not believe the claws on his feet!! Hope you like them."
We sure do, Sandra! Thanks for sharing!
